Château

Léoube is not just a wine estate. It’s the full Provence fantasy — condensed into one impossibly beautiful property between the Maures hills and the sea. A 16th-century château surrounded by organic vines, a 20-hectare olive grove, a café with sea views, and private access to Plage du Pellegrin — one of the most unspoilt stretches of sand on the Var coast.

You can come for an hour and taste. Or you can come for half a day and never want to leave. Most people choose the second option.

Where Wine Meets the Sea

The vineyards slope gently from the hills toward the Mediterranean, catching the maritime breeze that gives Léoube’s wines their distinctive freshness. The estate was one of Provence’s organic pioneers, and the commitment shows: no synthetic inputs, cover crops between the vines, and a biodiversity that fills the air with birdsong and wild herbs.

The rosé ‘Love by Léoube’ has become iconic — pale, elegant, and impossibly drinkable, it’s the bottle you’ll recognise from magazine spreads and seaside terraces. But the range goes deeper: the white is mineral and precise, the red is structured and serious, and the olive oil is among the finest in the Var.

Café Léoube

The on-site café is worth the visit alone. Set among the olive trees with views toward the Îles d’Hyères, it serves seasonal Provençal dishes paired with the estate’s wines — simple, honest cooking that lets the produce speak. Book ahead in summer; the terrace fills quickly.

After lunch, follow the path through the estate down to Plage du Pellegrin for a swim. The combination of wine, olive oil, good food, and a beach — all on one property — is hard to beat.
