Some landmarks look better from a distance. Les Deux Frères are the opposite. These twin rocks rising from the sea off Cap Sicié are striking from the shore, but up close, from a kayak or beneath the surface, they come into their own: steep walls dropping into clear water, alive with fish. They're one of the best dive and snorkel sites near Toulon.
What to do
Paddle out by kayak, snorkel the rock faces, or dive with a local club to see the marine life that gathers around the twin spires. Calm days only, as the site is exposed.

Getting there: about 25 minutes from the villa. Kayak launch from Fabrégas beach or Verne beach.
Kayak rental: from around €20 a half-day (Kayak Vert Fabrégas, L'Atelier Bleu).
Diving: from around €50 a dive with local clubs; booking recommended.
Best time: May to October, on calm-sea days. Check conditions, the site is exposed.
