Quiet
A nightingale, rossignol in French, doesn't make much noise, and neither does this beach. Hidden down a pine-shaded path along the coast between Jean Blanc and Layet, Rossignol is a tiny, naturist-friendly cove where silence is the main attraction. It's for those who want the sea to themselves.
What to expect
A small, secluded cove of sand and pebble with pine shade and no amenities. Naturist-friendly and very quiet, it rewards anyone willing to walk down the rough path.
Practical information
Getting there: between Jean Blanc and Layet on the D559, near Le Lavandou (about 50 minutes from the villa). Free roadside parking at the bend, then a rough footpath down to the cove.
Facilities: none. No lifeguard, no kiosk. Bring everything you need.
Best time: mid-morning or late afternoon for the best light and fewest visitors; shoulder season is quieter still.
Mauricette's Tip
